Turn support into action.

You do not need to be part of an organization. A signature, a message, a printed flyer, or one well-placed share can help put this issue in front of the people who can influence the outcome.

1. Sign the petition

The petition will ask decision-makers to keep the USS Doris Miller name on CVN-81 and support appropriate additional recognition for Dorie Miller, including consideration of a Medal of Honor upgrade.

2. Contact decision-makers

Write or call your members of Congress and respectfully ask them to support keeping the USS Doris Miller name on CVN-81. You can also share the issue with Navy and Defense Department leadership, veterans organizations, and civic leaders.

A simple message works:
“Please keep CVN-81 named USS Doris Miller. Additional honors for Dorie Miller are welcome, but they should not replace the historic carrier naming already announced.”

3. Share the campaign
